1. Life Space Crisis Intervention (LSCI): The Skill of Reclaiming Children and Youth with Self-Defeating Behaviors
"Life Space Crisis Intervention (LSCI) is about talking with children and youth who are in crisis. It is a process that can be used in almost any situation or location because it requires no props or equipment, only a skilled and understanding adult. Yet obtaining that skill is not easy, and the difficulties of helping today's troubled students are enormous. Skilled verbal strategies are essential requirements for adults in helping roles" Dr. Nicholas Long. Mark Freado is the most experienced trainer of Life Space Crisis Intervention in the world.
2. Response Ability Pathways
(RAP)
The
RAP curriculum was developed by Larry Brendtro of Reclaiming Youth and Lesley du
Toit, of the Child and Youth Care Agency for Development in South Africa.
The curriculum was piloted in North America, South Africa, and Australia.
According to Dr. Brendtro, RAP taps and develops the innate strength and
resilience of young persons. The course focuses on three interventions: Connect,
Clarify, and Restore. These are the normal “abilities” of the resilient human
brain: we are endowed with the ability to connect to others for support, clarify
challenging problems, and restore harmony. Mark Freado is a lead trainer
for Reclaiming Youth International and an original trainer of this innovative
training curriculum.
Mark Freado is a certified by the Ken Blanchard Co. as a trainer of Situational Leadership II. The Pressley Ridge Institute has a contract with the Ken Blanchard Co. as a third party provider of SLII training.
